The Text Message

It had not happened before to Alexa. Her husband Jonathan had not texted her for the last 2 days. Something that made her think that her fear might just come true. Alexa was born in the suburbs of Texas,  in a relatively poor family. Although her relatives were big businessmen and women Alexa’s family never had the fortune of such luxury as her grandfather only gave a farm to then married newly weds. Alas! Alexa’s father died of heart stroke while her mother was diagnosed with 1st stage cancer. Along with the relative poverty of the family and the loss of manpower Alexa was left in a dire straits situation where she had no clue what to do; until Jonathan came in. While very little is known about his background Jonathan. They started a new innings together very soon. The fear though remained...

Jonathan had gone off to his week long work. Being a very hard and obedient worker Alexa never saw him miss one day. Let that be alone, she used to wake up every morning just to see her breakfast near their bed with a note saying “You are lazy!”

A smile used to spread over her face every morning. Although they spent very less time together but the bond between them seemed strong, or we might say best friends forever. Like all usual days today she got up, fed her angels before going off to wash the dishes. While Mary was home preparing for her exams Jack went off to his Sunday baseball match. A cold shiver ran down Alexa’s back. A fear gripped her. It was then when she picked up her phone and murmured,”No message for two days!” Alexa looked out of the window, dark clouds hovered above, no sunshine whatsoever fell onto the ground. Was that a sign? Perhaps it was just her hallucination and imaginative mind. No wonder Jonathan tells her to see less horror movies and myths.

Opening her gloves she kept them beside basin. Her throat dried up. She sensed danger but why? What was going to happen. A sleepless night and horrific dreams yesterday made her thoughts seem more valid.
Why do they have to leave there families like this? Fighting and serving other people to make them only unsung heroes when they die. Who will remember them? Shot and left there dead. Who will look after their family after that? Simply no one. Just a storm will arise sometimes stronger than a cyclone to shatter the dreams and hopes of the family he left behind.

“Peep-Peep, Peep-Peep” the phone rang. Possibly a message. Her hands shaking she took up the phone and swiped open the screen. There the message was. Tapping on it her whole suspicion became clear. She was right. It was all over. The dreams she witnessed all seemed to be true. Why is it her family always. What has she ever done wrong? Her eyes filled up with sea of tears. She sob-ed, hoping Mary could not hear her from the next room. Breaking to the ground she hugged herself, she knew the treacherous future that laid ahead. She knew the pain...

Yet Another night

Winter asphyxiated the land pale, as the pearly moon filled the sky. Wrapping up the lacerated blanket she tried to close her frozen eyes. A gentle hush cloaked the land. Lying there still like a dead body she noticed some on-lookers pass by. All wearing luxurious jackets, pants and gloves. While one murmured, “Brrr! Such a cold night!” she gaped in astonishment and fear of what the world might go through if they were to live one day like this. The silver grey skies above were bare. No clouds, nothing to shelter her from this treacherous pain she was going through. Straight ahead a glimmer of light covered her face. A family of four sat there enjoying their seasoned vegetables under the lambent light of the fire. When was the last time she ate something? Perhaps, she does not know; or maybe she does not bother. For her a meal once in a day was enough to let her survive a week. As the time goes by the lights shutter off. The one source of heat also disappears. When the whole of the country dozed off under their cozy blankets she laid there, eyes wide open, with tingling fingertips and chattering teeth. Imaginably, she might have insomnia. How beautiful the sky looked? Stars shining, the moon diffusing its heavenly light filling up the long-stretched roads. It is as if a show of mystifying and marvelous beauty was being held for her and only her. As the night went on a cold mist blanketed the atmosphere around. Wrapping herself up like a cocoon she quivered hoping for it all to end. Alas! The world was cruel. For she knew the devastating truth, but she never gives up. Humming her favourite song with broken up lyrics she finally closed her eyes and whispered, “Thank You, for letting me live yet another day…”

Brain-Freeze-d Situations

Whether in an exam hall or in a meeting brain freeze are occasional situations to fall into. It is one of those situations when we seem to forget everything we learned in our life. Sometimes even our own names!

Now think for an instance that you are with your beloved one, out on a first date, chatting and smiling on various topics, when suddenly you are out of themes to talk about. Yes, the candles are still burning, the violin is still playing and you still got beaten up from your parents last night for not studying, but the brain has freeze-d up! Such an embarrassing situation it becomes that it turns out many times that neither the boy nor the girl has a topic to talk about. They keep staring as if a bulb will shine above someone’s head and they will get the chances to start again. Sadly, that never happens. This is mainly due to the excitement and anxiety that one goes through on their first date.

Perhaps, you are in a very important meeting. One that will give you a pay rise and perhaps on top of that will give you promotion before your disliked so called friendly colleague. You are completely prepared to ace it and even today you went on to say some extra prayers for success; but guess what? You end up just gawking at your slides trying to think what to speak. Wow! Did you forget everything you learned? Or was it never in your head? This is one situation that I guess many hate to get into. The main reason for this is somewhat overconfidence at times, otherwise fear of being dejected. It is painful and the whole hall full of people glaring at you makes it that much tougher.

Then another famous event might be the exam hall. Since this is our best enemy of all time (well for most of us) it is one place to get oneself brain freeze-d very easily. The questions look weird. The sums look huge. History papers turn to calculations of birth and death dates, while math papers turn to pages of antiquity. Whereas, later on you may detect they were rather fairly easy. Sometimes due to strenuous studying and insufficient sleep you might find yourself into such difficult situations. Do not be surprised to discover that even your teachers might look like aliens to you in exam halls. Although after the exam you may find out that you knew all the answers. Alas! It was just a little too late. Better luck next time.

Did it ever happen that you enter a room for something only to forget what was that something you needed? Moreover, you stand there still looking around your room thinking, “Where am I? is this the maze runner movie?” However, you might end up wasting precious seconds of your life thinking why you arrived at the first place or go away empty handed only to remember it again when it is too late…

Well one of the greatest brain freeze happens when someone is crossing the road and they are confronted with the monstrous machineries which also is driven by the greatest creatures ever created. Usually, the driver drives too fast and the pedestrians crossing the road think of themselves as Usian Bolt. Unfortunately, if they are then in front of the car/bus/truck, they stand still shocked, gaping at it as if they have seen a mythical creature of some kind. Thus the end is disastrous as most of the times the person stands still without even moving an inch as if lightning hit him/her.

On all these situations and many more it is as if the brain has stopped functioning properly and all the clues along with ideas vanish for that instance. This is a complex study in science that is still being researched. Our brain is a paradox itself. It is tough to get to know how it works perfectly, for some secrets perhaps can left untouched!

The Moon

A gush of wind entered the room through the slight opening of the window of Mariam’s room. The night was relatively cooler compared to others. Winter was drawing near and this was the prime example of it. Mariam covered her body with the blanket, more tightly than ever in a hope to perish the coldness that lay in her room. Her body became icy as the wind picked up the speed. Blood running through her veins froze. She could not feel her fingers, her hands so dry, her lips crisp and her eyes wide open. Clicking on the lamp beside her she steadily sat up on the bed and removed her blanket. It was 2 at night…

Walking up to the window she slowly pushed it open. “Oww… it’s very cold!” she shrieked. It was the middle of November and the panic-stricken days were ahead. Giving off a sign of relief she looked up to the heavens. The beauty, it held. What a mesmerizing appearance. The moon seemed so big. So close it was perhaps a ladder might have made me the second person to visit the moon and walk on it after Neil Armstrong. The lazy clouds played hide and seek as it at times covered the gleam of shine that spread across the dark night. It was as if she (the moon) wanted to tell us about the agonizing pains one might go through but never to lose hope because light shines back someday or the other. In short, every cloud has a silver lining.

The scars on the moon’s surface depicted the clear sting it goes through but how still many keep on fighting along to survive. She never learns to give up. Up there even in the taciturn space above where meteoroids are her only visitors she still has learned to shine bright, covering up the whole of earth as if saying, “I’m here for you my son!”

Mariam thought; how powerful is the moon that it controls the waves of the sea. What supremacy it has, that it controls the bodies of secrecy, of the planet that gives life to the greatest creations. One day who knows the soils that give us food, the soils that we are destroying might be under these bodies and earth will be lost. Cities will be destroyed. People will be killed. Alas! It might just be a story for aliens to write, “The once Earth!”

Similarly, like many others moon also might have secrets. Mariam gaped at the beauty that stood. Then she asked, “What’s your dark side?” Certainly you would not expect the moon to answer that but she replied, in her whimsical way. Hiding behind the clouds she left the earth for a moment. A throb hit her hard. She loved to keep her riddles to herself. Possibly we are not still old and trained enough to understand what she speaks. What she signals. Then again she is a mystery that will be difficult to solve. It is part of everyday life right? We do not know everything about our neighbors! Well, the moon is such a neighbor that tells us much as we need to know about her, but not too much.

Someday tough will still come, when missions might be set to understand our neighbor better. That day feasibly we may get to know her better. For now, she is an enigma and she likes it that way. Up from the sky who knows, smiling at us, at the brave efforts we take and sobbing for the mistakes we make!

The light breeze made Mariam close her eyes, as a smile of gratitude and satisfaction spread over her tired face which had now given up to the silent lullaby which was sang by the mother of our planet earth.

One of the best quotes I like about the moon:
Shoot for the moon, even if you miss it you will land among the stars.

The Lonely Road
Chap 3

The crunching sound of the dried leaves under my foot, the buzzing sound of insects and the occasional howling of dogs filled up the night atmosphere. Scared along with excitement both worked together as I strode along the dry road. With darkness on both sides and large tress covering up the mystifying moonlight the situation was made more frightening and scary.

I assumed that I walked for about 2 hours or so but not less but the road did not seem to end. To me it felt like that I would end up to the same place where I initiated my journey. Well, but one thing was for certain that no more sound penetrated through the dense woods. Everything seemed so serene and unobtrusive. Taking in deep breaths I walked on along the lonely road…

“There it is! Finally!”, I shrieked out in joy. I ran towards it to stop just before the door to take a full notice of the house. It was unquestionably very old. Type of an abandoned house. The walls had its plasters falling off. The windows were short and tiny and only two came to my notice. Slightly crooked towards the ground the house had a great chance of falling down anytime. There lay a chair old, broken with dust all over. Creepy but would work for a night.

“Woof! Woof!” I turned around to see the same dog that the old man had. “Here doggy, come here,” I whispered to the dog. As I walked towards it the dog seemed to move away from me. I took a step forward it took a step back.

“He does not get along with new people,” shouted someone from the back. Turning my head, I noticed there stood the old man. A smile spread over my face seeing him, but it vanished in no time when I looked forward just to see the empty air but no dog. It was just a spit second and the dog had vanished. Poof! Hudini!

“Follow me. Let me show you around the house,” the old man cried.

I walked behind him glancing from one spot to another trying to find the magician dog. It was then something caught my eyes. The dusky night with its heavenly moonlight shone down towards earth. I clearly observed my shadow but the old man?

As he opened up the door I stepped in the house. The floor beneath me creaked.
“Be careful son, the mistress is sleeping. You don’t want to wake her up. She will be very angry,” said the man anxiously. “Wait I thought you lived alone!” I replied. Looking at me in with an apprehensive face he responded, “Yes I do!”

As I strolled along with him towards my bunk many things caught me with surprise. The kitchen looked unused. The plates lying in the far end. Spider webs spread along the stoves, basins. Cockroaches zipped across the floors. Rats with their gleaming red eyes as if stared straight towards me.

“How do you live in this place? Don’t you eat anything?” I murmured.

Walking up the stairs I met up with the long hallway. He pointed out to the room at the extreme end and said that was my bunk. Marching end-to-end I looked up into the various pictures held upon the wall. One had a man hanging upside down by its leg. Another had a reaper in the picture holding onto a head of a dead man. While there was one with a girl having green eyes unprotected holding a dog towards herself and glaring as if she was seeing my every move.

The old man unfastened up the bunk door and told me to get in. “Listen son, don’t get out from your room. Just listen to me and do what I say. Go straight in. Freshen up and straight to bed. First thing in the morning tomorrow you leave the place! Now go!”

Slamming the door behind me I heard his footsteps slowly perish away. What does he think of himself? My father? I do whatever I wish! No one is stopping me. Certainly not an old man who is 5 feet 7 and wears a jacket. He is definitely broke! (talking to myself).

The bed was messy, the blankets had a rotten smell while the deep-rooted wooden framework that made up the cabin even had terrible fragrance that flew up to my nose. Shaking the blanket, I only worsened my situation as I started to cough. It was to my surprise that this room even had a window. A relatively small one. I ran towards it but, alas! It was too tight. Perhaps rust had made it stuck to its position. My attempts yielded no results and ended up with me sleeping in that dusty, smelly and yuck-ish room.

The room was dark. Not even a glint of light from today’s full moon fell into this dreaded, suffocating bunk. I phone was dead and thanks to the brilliant technology in the woods I could not even charge my phone! Sluggishly getting up from the bed I made my way towards the bathroom.

Putting water all over my face I tried to somewhat clear up the tough day I had gone through till now. The freshening drops of water made me feel rejuvenated and relieved. I looked into the mirror and then splashed more water over my face. Something seemed wrong in the mirror. Yes’ it was me. I glared at it…

As I began to walk out my eyes again went towards the mirror. There it was, but a different me. A crooked smile spread over the face of that reflection of mine. His eyes enlarged, hair start to fall off. The smile became bigger and bigger where at one instance it turned into a great loud laughter.

I ran out of the room. The hallway was still lit. As I began to take long strides I stopped again to look into the picture of the girl. The dog seemed to be resemble the one with the old man. Before I could give any more thoughts the door of the bunk squeaked open and a hand came out. I ran through the hallway and stood at the stairs to just see what was coming out of the room. That same old me! But this time that thing did not have an eye. “Peek-a-boo”

Running down the stairs I made my way towards the main gate. It was locked! Now what? The windows all seemed fastened. The shadow behind me got larger. I glimpsed back to see him standing under that flickering light at the end of this room. As he started to take steps towards me, I began to squint around the room to find an escape. “Nothing was there, no escape, no, wait, the door? That’s open!?”

I ran towards it and got into the room, smashing the door behind me. There stood stairs. I had not noticed this part of the building. How did I miss it? I jogged down the stairs two at a time. Very soon a whimper came to my ears. A girl’s cry. I slowly came down the stairs into the chamber. It was then when the man turned his head and gave me a smile saying, “You are here?!” I got a hope. I was overjoyed. Extremely pleased. Possibly now I can survive.

“Who is she?” I asked pointing at the girl sitting cross-legged naked. “The mistress,” he replied. A kind of sympathy made me walk up to her. I asked her putting a hand on her head, “Are you okay? Everything will be fine now the uncle will save you. We will save you.”

The cries from the girl suddenly stopped. The old man was gone! He was nowhere to be seen. I ran towards the small window present there. Looking sideways I found the old man standing near a big banyan tree with an expressionless face.

“How did he get there? There is no way to go?” I screamed.

The girl stood up. It was that time I saw her. The green eyes being covered by the disorderly hair that spread over her face. Her mouth was knitted. She had no lips, no eyebrows as much as I saw. I slammed the window behind me shouting out at the top of my lungs for someone to help me. As I turned around I saw the other one who was a look alike me stand there with her crooked evil smile.

“Let me go please. Please let me go!”

The girl opened up her mouth for the first time just to add up to my horror to see gush of blood dripping down to the ground. She torn apart her hand and began to eat it herself.
I stood there numb. Nothing to do. Scared and shocked. As the girl finished up eating her hand she gave out a shrill cry. Her green eyes stared at me. I looked behind through the window at the old man. There he stood motionless, only a drop of tear rolled down his cheeks. Gulping in I glanced back. She was in front of me. Her blood stricken face was so close I could smell the rotten blood. I stared into her eyes. She came close. My heartbeats rocketed up as I knew my time was near. Her hand was cold; she was so icy.

My hands became numb. My throat was dried up. Head started to pain. I viewed her eyes. Such lush green. “All hail the majesty!”

My body froze. Her hand went through my body. I could see her joy and happiness after doing such an act. She for the last time looked up to me, and then with her icy bare cold hands spread my eyelids shut…

“Where did you find him?” asked the police. “In the woods sir. He was lying there. Called you up quick!” replied the old man. “Woof, Woof!!” “Hm… it’s a good dog you got there,” the police said.

“Yes sir. She is just like my daughter!" replied the old man with a grin.

The Lonely Road
chap 2

I closed my eyes but in no time I felt a cold hand on my shoulder.

“Listen up son!” said a hoarse voice.
Slowly opening up my eyes I was shocked to see that it was an old man who stood there. Alongside him there stood his dog barking at me. Giving off a sign of relief I opened my mouth when he interrupted again.

“You know son this is not a place to hover around especially at this time of the night. Many awful things happen out here and I bet you don’t want to get involved in any… Do you?”

Nodding my head, I told him where I wanted to go. He looked at me with a suspicious face for quite some time and remarked, “I guess you better find a place to stay today. The roads are not safe son. Better if you start your journey tomorrow because you are still a far way off from your home.”

Considering the circumstances, I thought it was best to follow what he said. He also added, “If you want a place to stay then I could arrange you a room for you today. But only for tonight. I have a bunk that is not into used. Dirty but you can survive through a night.”
Before I could even give an answer he turned his back and shouted out to me to follow him. The gleaming light beaming above my head made my headache. I knew that rest was compulsory and that it would be the best for me to restart again tomorrow.

The man let his dog loose as I saw it run towards the woods. I started to jog towards him cause at this time of the night he was my only hope of survival. Walking along the road behind him he led me to a passage towards the woods. Glancing at his watch a smirk spread over his face which immediately vanished when he looked up towards me and began, “Listen son you take this road and go straight. Don’t turn left or right. Just straight! I will catch up to you in a moment!” I looked up to him startled, “No offense sir but how do you expect me to find your house in the woods alone?” The old man replied, “Go straight SON!”

Hearing him shout at me I took a step back. Observing the worn out road I soon found out the old man was walking away from there. My eyes caught a signboard which clearly wrote, “NO Trespassing! Completely prohibited area!” once again I shouted at him, “Sir it is a prohibited area are we in the right place?”

Standing there he slowly turned his head and glared at me. “Sometimes we have to do somethings which maybe wrong but we are bound to perform because our life is at stake!”

Without further questions asked I walked into the woods along the road towards the greatest fears that lay ahead…

The Lonely Road

The heavens broke apart as I strolled down the endless road. My mobile showed 2 things quite clearly, it was 30 minutes past midnight and at any time it was going to get switched off. With every passing moment my body was giving up. My legs were tired and my energy was being drained.

At the far end a lamppost flickered and the sound of the gush of electrons in the lamppost was the solitary noise that came to my ears. With no soul in sight and the moon playing hide and seek with the clouds made the place much more haunting than usual.

I came here before. When I was 8 years old. Now I am 18 and I just passed college. Last time I visited it was not so creepy, the major reason was it was daytime then whereas nighttime now! Also the news of many murders happening on the road for unexpected causes has made me more anxious.

I reached the lamppost and looked around if I could see any house nearby. It was impossible for me to reach my aunt’s house by tonight given the fact that it was still 5Kms away. Taking up my phone I called my uncle…

It was then when my phone switched off and so did the bulb above my head. Just like that the whole road turned into a dark nightmare. One in which I was stuck. In a split of second I noticed something move nippily through the woods. First I thought it was hallucination but then all was solved when I saw a similar object or kind of an animal zip pass just inches ahead of me.

Sweat dripped down my forehead and rolled over my cheeks. My throat became dry and my hands became numb. It was as if the night temperature dropped down several degrees. Rubbing my hands together I kept on blinking my eyes and looked straight towards the woods.

There it was the eyes, green eyes gleaming. Slowly they began to come towards me. All seemed to freeze. My whole body was still. No movement nothing! It was as if that hideous thing was controlling me. I gulped in and stared at it. The time had come. There it was… an animal? No a human? What was it?

NO MORE…!

‘Hello? Hello? Louder Jack. Did you not eat breakfast?’

‘Yes, aha… exactly. We have Physics class today. Not the test though. That is day after tomorrow… but do come today. The topic is important’

Phew… a gush of wind hit Jeremy’s face. Talking on the mobile he looked up and then glanced at the watch.

‘No I will be late!’

‘No it’s nothing Jack. Talking to myself as usual. What was I saying? Oh yes don’t miss today’s class. I am on my way so talk to you later…’

‘Bye then’

‘Damn… 10 more minutes left. I need to be quick’

Observing the overhead bridge for some time he paced on forward. Sweating profusely, he did not bother to look to his sides as he strolled along the road. Cool breeze swept across the atmosphere with the frequent surge of wind hitting him now and then.

The clicking noise of rickshaws and the horns of the bus and car drivers were buzzing around. His ears filled up with the shouting of the people around the busy road. As he looked towards his left he saw two drivers fighting over something… the issue was unknown but whatever the cause one thing was understandable that they were not using any good language to confront one another.

One rickshaw-puller went straight past him and then shouted out loud, ‘See where you are going!’ Not giving heed to what he said Jeremy moved on and walked up on to the pavement of the other side.

Now he had to cross the road on this side and with it he would finally reach his college. He was staring at the main entrance where students were coming while some were going. With his earphones plugged in and his favorite song being played on the mobile he started his journey towards his college gate. Taking a peek left and then right he walked on. Shaking his head and singing, he kept on going as if he is a rock star.
It was to his astonishment when he suddenly found out that a truck was on the oncoming. Stunned and shocked he removed his earphones and gaped at the truck. It was as if he was a statue, as if his body had malfunctioned and he could not move. All his senses seemed to have vanished. A long beeping sound rang through his ears. At some distant the on lookers were shouting, telling him to move away… but there he was stuck, glued to the place. The human body was not responding. The brain had stopped all its activities.

So close was the truck now that the smell of petrol from its engine reached his nose. The heat from it caused goosebumps. Time seemed to have stopped for a second. Jeremy knew death was on his doorstep…

Jeremy flew across the road and hit the wall of his college, his head bounced up from the ground below. His body twisted and curved. The human anatomy is not supposed to bend this way! He Jeremy rested there as an innocent soul. It was as if his life was snatched away from him. Jeremy was NO MORE!

Many such Jeremy’s are dying nowadays thanks to of course their carelessness, not using the overhead bridges that links one pavement to the other, listening to songs while crossing the road, etc. Such horrendous acts can be stopped if we are just a little bit careful after all, YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE (YOLO). Just think if you die then let alone be the school you will never be able to attend anything!

While for drivers I have only one thing to say to them… this is not a Need for Speed game or GTA series. Stricter rules should be made for such people who drive so fast on the roads, who drink and drive, who talk on the phones and drive, who break traffic rules, etc.

BE SAFE AND YEAH DO NOT DANCE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD.

THAT KILLS ALSO!

Ablaze

I was never afraid of light but this was a nightmare. So bright, my eyes could not see anything clearly. I looked around with my eyes almost closed, whatever little I could see. It was so bright as if the sun was right in front of me. The smell of the rotten woodwork reached my nose. I could hear screams. It was as if I was going to melt down anytime, any moment. The room became hotter with each passing second. Never have I thought that I would have gone through such a fearful day.

What did I expect and what just happened? A month of trip out to my parent’s house after the ordeal at college… what a mistake I have done. I just hope they are safe. Thank God I send them to the movies today; but here I am… fighting with life and death with the only hope of surviving this horrendous situation I am in.

‘Boom! Creeeeekkk… Boom!’ the sound kept on unremittingly, floating through the damp moisten air of fumes and smoke. Sitting under the table with my legs crossed I look into the distant. The curtains were falling off and in the blink of my eye they mixed away into a cloud of dust and ashes. Red and blue lights were reflecting off the window glass which implied that the police and the firemen were here. With the hope of being saved I sat down patiently calling my savior, my God. The temperature seemed to increase quite a bit. Glancing at my wristwatch I saw it was half past midnight…

Suddenly a pillar broke down crashing through the ground and going below. The whole place was tearing apart. With great courage I stood up. The road towards the main door was broken. All I could see was the basement and the fallen pillar from up here. It was one of those times I really wanted a superhero to be real. Wish superman came to save me now! As I took my first step a gush of pain ran through my whole body. I understood I had torn a ligament when the plank of wood above fell on my leg as I was going to take cover before this incident had started. Dragging myself to the bathroom I noticed myself in the mirror. Was it me? Who is this? Before I could even register a thought in my mind a loud noise broke out. Another pillar had just fallen. My time was short. I needed to get out, but how? Looking up at the walls of the bathroom I initiated my observation to search for a ventilator. Perhaps a broken wall through which I can squeeze through. Something to save me…

The place was silenced. With my hands held tight I sat at my previous spot anticipating a miracle. I knew I had no strength to save myself. Thousands of thoughts were running through my mind… Is this hell? Perhaps it’s a dream? What mistakes did I do in life, to fall in such a position? I don’t want to die this way… but… but… my time is short! Never should I had come home!

The amount of carbon dioxide increased greatly in the room. Very soon I began to cough. I coughed so hard… felt like my intestines and my lungs will burst out. Breathing became difficult. No sound whatsoever. It was so hushed that the only sound I could hear was the rage of the fiery walls and ceilings and the tick-tock of my wristwatch. Each tick and each tock felt like a signal of my expiry. All people might have left maybe. Taking one last breath with great difficulty I closed my eyes, listened and thought with a smile on my face… I am now alone… stranded in this very house where I began my life and now here it ends.

Hello puddin.... artwork
Different Types of Commercials(Advertisements)

Who doesn’t love to watch the TV? It is considered as one of the best ways to kill time. Gaping at the one eyed monster even when your favorite show is not on air is a fun thing to do to waste precious seconds of our lives; but over the years that changed. TV’s have become a source of showcasing products nowadays.

So why not go through some commercials that the TELEVISION presents to us…

Perfume commercials…readers let’s make it straight you can’t smell perfume scents coming out from the TV’s. You simply can’t smell it! All you will notice is a six packed man applying something on their body and girls running towards him… wow as if that ever happened to me! There are also some advertisements which show a couple get stranded in the middle of the sea and the smell of perfume causes the women to be sensual. I mean seriously? In the middle of the sea. No wait perhaps it was the ocean... oh well I don’t remember. You know what would make sense? Children coming home smelly after playing football/soccer and applying perfume to get rid of the smell. Now that’s an honest commercial!

Medical(hospital) commercials… have you ever seen great medical hospitals on TV giving 7star treatment with the best medical instruments possible in the world? I bet you have. Fear no more cause all of them are fake! It was once that I opted to visit one such hospital with the hope of observing the beauty it holds. The only beauty I saw was the empty canteen with food lying in their stocks and houseflies their customers! The place was buzzing with people most of which were busy playing clash of clans or perhaps came here to find Pokémons! I love both the games though. Moreover, let it be the a 7star management the washrooms are even not good. Water leaking from pipes and the superb smell that arises all around… lights flicker as if you are in a haunted house until you come out to find that people are still there buzzing around and the country's population is only increasing!

Game commercials… this really kills me. Who has not seen the trailer of Pokémon go? You should go and watch it once. According to them it was supposed to be Pokémons lying around in the roads which we could have seen with the naked eye. With the technology of VR, I thought it was possible but guess what no. You need to carry your phone with you wherever you go. The game basically consisting of google maps has created lot of hype in the world. It is ultimately teaching you Geography of your place in a fun way, and that is by walking. Well except those who go cycling… or drive cars… whatever, it is the game commercials I think should be true. Giving false hopes and not living up to the expectations is something really heartbreaking. Come on game creators’, games are one of the most important to-do schedules of our life.

Ketchup commercials… eating burgers, eating pizzas, how? How? How? All you need is the boss of all ketchups and Ta-Da the name. I guess that’s how all of them goes. Ketchup commercials are weird and funny. Asian countries have to have such commercials; it is a must. Whatever, the occasions are there has to be ketchup in the ads. May it be a get together occasion, where you will notice that beside a cup of tea there is ketchup… don’t know how they go together. Sometimes even in weddings you will find them. All these can happen in the commercials only.

Lipstick commercials… just like the perfumes of men this is somewhat similar but for women. Whatever the size of the lips is and whichever the color the lipstick is you are bound to find boys looking at them. Simply awesome. Get the point readers, boys are amazed to see the amazing lipstick color not the girl!

Cigarette commercials… smoking is injurious for health; none of the actors support or promote smoking; smoking causes cancer! Bam! The short note is finished and the actor or actress is seen holding a cigar, smoking. On top of that the marvelous visuals  creates such an atmosphere young kids are bound to try it once. Simply it’s harmful for health and the cigarette packet even says so… but it still sells it. Strange.

Info Commercials… usually those selling selfie sticks with the motive to reduce your arm pain. Also includes the ones selling belts saying that it would reduce your fat. Recently one caught up my eye that they were selling a pen with a video camera on it to capture if their child is studying or not! Did we not get enough pain already? Their motto was, “Best way to spy on people on the cheapest rate.”

Mobile Commercials... they say new electronic equipment come to scene every 3 days to a week. These is something many mobile phones have followed and help to keep the trend. The luxurious metal frame body, the sound quality, memory card space, the camera and what not they show. Many buy such mobiles to find out the reality that the world has been lying to them. The only truth they will find is the "luxurious metal body". Other than that the sound quality is poor as to when we play a song in full volume (which gives us warning that our ear can be damaged) the sound doesn't even reach our ears. Time to see a doctor! Cannot listen to songs. Useless living in this world. All mobiles will have 30 to 40 percent of its memory consumed for its own apps. Leaving us with the harsh reality of not getting the chance to download big games or movies. The camera by the way should be extraordinary. Although the pictures we take make us feel amazed we still have to edit them before posting. On other occasions cameras cannot even focus, alas! Our faces cannot be found then.

Many more commercials are visible in our everyday life which I guess if I write a book won’t even end it. If there is any I missed please let me know. Of course if you read through all of it congrats on wasting some precious minutes of your life :p !

I Can, I Will

Note: wrote it in 1st person for all students who did bad reports… results just part of life!

It doesn’t take me by surprise that I didn’t achieve the greatness I deserved. It has been the worst I did over the past 12 years. A result that I never wanted to give to my parents, one that I don’t believe I was justified to which has also taken away the life in me. I lost to stand up to my name, make history, shut every of my foes up and put a smile on my parents’ face. When everyone is going on and spreading the love of sweetness I broke apart, sitting at a corner, sobbing, with my heart torn to pieces and whimpers being my only companion.

I could have given up. I should have given up. I must have ended my journey here… but like many others I don’t want to die and give up on the face of this beautiful planet and burn in the eternity of the fire of hell. Suicide is not the option. I am known to be knocked down, but I know on many a times on all occasions I have been able to come back strong, stronger than before, like a phoenix rising from its ashes. I know I can come back and make amends. Do what was left to be undone. The roads are tough and toiling but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible. Take a step towards the long journey, believe in Almighty and give your best… in short… leave no stone unturned. Every dog has its own day and I believe I will have mine too. Living in this beautiful world someday my life will be prosperous, my wishes will come true… and who knows perhaps I will stand the best among all my friends. I didn’t let you down (my friends and family), it’s just that I need some more time. I will make an appearance back on screen, bigger and better. I will achieve success and fame.

Something I long wished for. Something I dream. Something that will make everyone proud of me. If I want to be the best in something than I have to achieve a feat that the world would not have even expected me to do. So what’s the plan? Turn around and walk away? NO! because I believe I can make a piece of history, rather I should say I will. Let that day come and bow down to me, and until then, I promise to work hard because I know I CAN, I WILL!

A Greener Earth Is a Healthier Earth

Buckminster Fuller once said that, “The best way to predict the FUTURE is to DESIGN it.”
It can be simply understood the importance of green practices needed in our present world from this simple line. Our earth is now at the brink of destruction… thanks to us of course! Undoubtedly we have played a big part in creating a massive upset in the ecological niche of our great planet. It is true that scientists are ASSUMING that there may be earth like planets somewhere in these vast universe, it is also true that we are no aliens to teleport ourselves there faster than the speed of light! In short we don’t have technology to travel such far distances in quick time. Thus for us, we are hand bound and going to other planets to continue our existence… at least for now can be cut from our list of “To-Do Things.”
So finally we reach to the point of green practices that we should undertake to save this lovely planet… which is definitely not so lovely now! Green practices should start from home. It can simply be by planting a baby plant at our house. Also take the small step of saving electricity of your house. Sounds difficult? Nah… not at all; not as tough as climbing Mount Everest! You don’t need any energy to do this work… well you do need some… but nonetheless let’s get down to the topic, go to your house today and make sure to put off all the switches that are on and has no appliance working on it. Make sure to switch off the fans and lights when you leave the room, which I guess Moral Science even taught you! Even if your living room has big windows and the sun is shining brightly outside then please turn off the lights on this sunny day and open your windows! All of us do have a tendency to buy a lot of things for our homes especially for the enhancement and improvement of the beautiful place we are living at. That’s when if small amount of common sense is used we would buy things that would not harm the environment. A simple example is buying glass water containers rather than plastic water containers. Water conservation can also take place if you install filter systems to collect rainwater and use it for both the washing of cars and for plants.
With that being said the most sinister people of the world are the industrialists! No just joking… no offense people! Just that like foolish people of this earth which certainly includes me the industrialists can protect our earth also. Moreover, they can help to preserve a lot of our earthly sources! Reduce the use of the scarce minerals finding alternative sources. Reuse the object again so no more of the minute natural resources will be ending at a quick rate. Recycle the used things as this is a better way to make sure that we use less amount of the reserves left. In tourism industry the introduction of ecotourism can immensely improve the quality of the country. All rare species and plants will be protected and tourists will be able to witness the mystifying culture of the country visited without harming it. Making sure gases which are mostly harmful are cleared up before set off to the atmosphere above… simply because no one wants to breathe in HCL gas I repeat no one wants to breathe in HCL gas! Before disposing of wastes into the seas they should be treated carefully and made sure that there are so harmful contaminants that may kill or damage the aquatic organisms.
Remember sharing is caring? Well that’s what I would say. The earth does not belong to us, but we belong to the earth. This is one thing we all have in common. Common sense is common! So with little intelligence and awareness let’s make the Earth a healthier place to live…
