NO MORE…!

‘Hello? Hello? Louder Jack. Did you not eat breakfast?’

‘Yes, aha… exactly. We have Physics class today. Not the test though. That is day after tomorrow… but do come today. The topic is important’

Phew… a gush of wind hit Jeremy’s face. Talking on the mobile he looked up and then glanced at the watch.

‘No I will be late!’

‘No it’s nothing Jack. Talking to myself as usual. What was I saying? Oh yes don’t miss today’s class. I am on my way so talk to you later…’

‘Bye then’

‘Damn… 10 more minutes left. I need to be quick’

Observing the overhead bridge for some time he paced on forward. Sweating profusely, he did not bother to look to his sides as he strolled along the road. Cool breeze swept across the atmosphere with the frequent surge of wind hitting him now and then.

The clicking noise of rickshaws and the horns of the bus and car drivers were buzzing around. His ears filled up with the shouting of the people around the busy road. As he looked towards his left he saw two drivers fighting over something… the issue was unknown but whatever the cause one thing was understandable that they were not using any good language to confront one another.

One rickshaw-puller went straight past him and then shouted out loud, ‘See where you are going!’ Not giving heed to what he said Jeremy moved on and walked up on to the pavement of the other side.

Now he had to cross the road on this side and with it he would finally reach his college. He was staring at the main entrance where students were coming while some were going. With his earphones plugged in and his favorite song being played on the mobile he started his journey towards his college gate. Taking a peek left and then right he walked on. Shaking his head and singing, he kept on going as if he is a rock star.
It was to his astonishment when he suddenly found out that a truck was on the oncoming. Stunned and shocked he removed his earphones and gaped at the truck. It was as if he was a statue, as if his body had malfunctioned and he could not move. All his senses seemed to have vanished. A long beeping sound rang through his ears. At some distant the on lookers were shouting, telling him to move away… but there he was stuck, glued to the place. The human body was not responding. The brain had stopped all its activities.

So close was the truck now that the smell of petrol from its engine reached his nose. The heat from it caused goosebumps. Time seemed to have stopped for a second. Jeremy knew death was on his doorstep…

Jeremy flew across the road and hit the wall of his college, his head bounced up from the ground below. His body twisted and curved. The human anatomy is not supposed to bend this way! He Jeremy rested there as an innocent soul. It was as if his life was snatched away from him. Jeremy was NO MORE!

Many such Jeremy’s are dying nowadays thanks to of course their carelessness, not using the overhead bridges that links one pavement to the other, listening to songs while crossing the road, etc. Such horrendous acts can be stopped if we are just a little bit careful after all, YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE (YOLO). Just think if you die then let alone be the school you will never be able to attend anything!

While for drivers I have only one thing to say to them… this is not a Need for Speed game or GTA series. Stricter rules should be made for such people who drive so fast on the roads, who drink and drive, who talk on the phones and drive, who break traffic rules, etc.

BE SAFE AND YEAH DO NOT DANCE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD.

THAT KILLS ALSO!
